Year in Review:

I know these posts can be cheesy, the gush anticipated, but I don’t care. Let’s have all the cheese. 2021 has been an unexpected and quite frankly, really great year. Things started off slow, but with the end of the year in sight I can say with confidence that I am really looking forward to what the future holds.

Poetry: I had over 20 prose poems accepted and published this year (a few to be published in 2022).

Short Stories: a grand total of 5 short stories published in 2021.

My overall total of poems published is approaching the 140 mark since 2017.

This was also a year to cross a few things off my bucket list like having a prose poem published in a dream market Strange Horizons. I was beyond fortunate enough to have a short story accepted for inclusion in the HWA anthology ‘Other Terrors’ which will be published next year by Mariner Books.

Another bucket list item was to be published by Crystal Lake Publishing with the release of my debut prose poetry collection ‘Oblivion in Flux: A Collection of Cyber Prose.’ Not only that, but my mentor and good friend Linda D Addison wrote a beautiful introduction that still brings tears to my eyes whenever I read it.

My prose poem ‘No More Prying Eyes’ found a wonderful home in the latest anthology from Hex Publishers ‘Shadow Atlas: Dark Landscapes of the Americas’ edited by Josh Viola, Carina Bissett, and Hillary Raque Dodge who took the utmost care in curating a stunning book about some of the mysterious and baffling geographies in North and South America.

I made my first cover appearance in the Zombie Annual from Weirdbook-Magazine edited by Douglas Draa which was also kind of exciting, sharing it with my friends and colleagues.

And above all, I was elected to serve as the Treasurer for the Horror Writers Association, an organization that’s given me so much and I’m grateful to have the chance to give back to it.

There’s a lot more on the horizon and I can’t wait to see what’s next…
